Taru Mela at The Learning School

Community interaction was the main aim of The Learning School to conduct the Taru Mela (second day to Eid festival) on 08 November 2011 as more than thousand people enjoyed it. Miss Madiha Tahir Shah, Deputy District Revenue Officer, Kot Radha Kishen Tehsil was the chief guest who lauded the efforts of TLSC team to provide such a wonderful entertainment program. As the festival was specially arranged for families of the area, so they were able the meet Eid to other citizens of the area, enjoyed the day where they listen the music, enjoyed the food from stalls and their children were playing on play stations. People were much happy and special women those have least opportunities for such gatherings.

Silver Medal in International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest

TLSC student “Awais Ashraf” of Grade III won the Silver Medal in the world’s largest International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest as he got the 1st Position in Kasur district. Total 117 students all over the Pakistan won the Silver Medal and TLSC student was one of them. 
Around 42,000 students from grade III to XII of more than 500 schools and colleges from all over Pakistan participated in the contest that was arranged on March 17, 2011

Space Week Celebrations at TLS

Students observing the Moon through telescopeThe Learning School in collaboration with Khwarizmi Science Society conducted  Astronomy Funfair (Falkiati Mela) on 8th October 2011 at The Learning School Campus, from 5:00 pm till 9:00 pm. This funfair  marked World Space Week and International Observe the Moon Night, that includded a popular lecture on introduction to astronomy following live observation of astronomical attractions through the powerful telescopes. The live observation was aided by Pakistan's leading amateur astronomer Umair Asim's commentary. Large number of Students (Boys & Girls) of the area along with their parents and teachers particitated in the Mela.

TVO Support for TLS Students

Trust for Voluntary Organizations (TVO) has granted Pak Rupees One Million towards The Learning School for the furniture and equipment of the students and training for its teachers. This financial support will be helpful to furnish the newly constructed class rooms and training of teachers. Earlier in 2003, TVO funded PKR 2.465 million for construction of science lab, a hall (that was converted later on in four class rooms) and salary of eight teachers for one year. TVO support is much appreciated by the Trust Members as well as citizens of the area.

Matriculate 2011 Results proved TLS is grooming

All students appeared in Exam were passed with high ranking in Matriculate results as all forty students passed and set a record in District Kasur securing the heights marks. Sara Aslam a brilliant girls student got 997 (95%), Khadija Zahoor 965 (92%) and Nazia Abbas 960 (91.43%).

Environment DayWorld Environment week is an annual event that is aimed at being the biggest and most widely celebrated global day for positive environmental action. The soul reason to celebrate the day is to enable everyone to realize not only their responsibility but also their power to become the agents for change in support of sustainable and equitable development.

International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest at TLS

International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest 2011International Kangaroo Mathematics Contest 2011 took place at on 17th March 2011 at TLS Campus for which TLS was already awarded the registration. The Learning school arranged for this International Mathematics event which is organized worldwide by the International association "Mathematics without border". This association now unites more than 50 countries of the world.
