Rida Zainab Top at TLS in Matric Exam
Rida ZainabThe Learning School is happy to share Matric results for year 2010 as 94% students passed with good marks. All students appeared with Science Subjects and in English Medium. Brilliant student Rida Zainab with 989 (94.20%) marks got first position at TLS, Kamran Zahur got 961 (91.52%) and secured 2nd position at TLS, Muhammad Hassan Akbar secured 957 (91.14%) and stand up at 3rd position, Razia Riaz got 948 (90.29%) and got 4th position at TLS. Overall four students got A++, seven students got A+, Seven Students got A, 19 Students got B, Seven Students got C and two students got D Grade.

German Embassy support for Construction of Class Rooms
german_flagEmbassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Islamabad has granted Rupees two million for the construction of six class rooms at TLS Campus. The constuction work will start from 1st April 2010 and will be completed within three months. 150-200 more students of the rural area will be able to get the admission on completion of these class rooms. TLS team members and citizens of the area much appreciated the grant and assured its proper utilization.
 
Dr. Klaff put foundation stone at TLS
klaff_tls1Dr. René Klaff, Regional Director, Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Liberty. South Asia visited TLS on 1st March 2010 and put the foundation stone for construction of class rooms for extension of TLS campus. Mr. Olaf Kellerhoff, Resident Representative, FNF Pakistan also accompanied him. Dr. Klaff visited the class rooms, met the TLS team members and appreciated the discipline of the students. TLS Principal, Ms Asma Pervez explained the guests about the efforts being made  by TLS to provide quality eduction to rural area studnets.
 
TLS Principal attended Seminar in Germany
asma_iafTLS Principal, Ms Asma Kiran Pervez attended two weeks seminar conducted by the International Academy of Leadership, at Gummersbach, Germany on No Education, No Freedom.  24 participants from 20 countries  were the participants and they shared their experience that will be helpful for The Learning School also to provide the purposeful quality education to the children of rural area of Kasur district. Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freihet (FNF), Pakistan Office seleted her  on the baisis of her performance during the last several training workshops that is also part of furhter training system at TLS. TLS management is thankful to FNF for giving the opportunity to TLS Principal for fully sponsored workshop in Germany from 7th to 19th February 2010.

Public Relations is the main task for the team leaders of any organisation. Principal TLS Ms Asma Kiran Pervez and Vice Principal TLS Mr Ali Ahmed are attending three days Training Workshop on Public Relations-II, being conducted by Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freadom, at Karachi, from 30th January till 1st February 2010. The workshop focus on concept and strategy. Fifteen paticipations from partner organisations of FNF are attending it.
 

Rida Zeynab got 2nd Position in Punjab
ridaRida Zeynab was the best student of the year at TLS during 2009 and she further proved it at English Essay Writing Competition at Punjab Level, where she got the 2nd Position. Earlier at Lahore Divisonal level competition in Secondary English Essay Writing, she got the 1st Position. Other briallent student of TLS, Mr Awais Khalid of 8th Class also won the 1st Position at Lahore Division level in English Essary Writing at middle level. Mr Awais Khalid last year won the 1st Position at Punjab level in English Essay Writing. Muhammad Musab, student of 8th class got the 3rd position at Lahore divison level in English Speech competition.

Green Day at TLS
2009-12-18-tls_green_day-002-sGreen Colour Day was celebrated on December 18, 2009. This activity was celebrated in the Montessori section. All the students collected green leaves from the school orchard and made very attractive head bands with them. They also found out different shades of green colour from the orchard. Students also made a presentation on the activity and told that it is secondary colour which is combination of blue and yellow. Green colour represents life and growth.

Orange Colour Day
yellow_dayOn December 8, 2009, Orange colour day was celebrated in the school. This activity was celebrated in the Montessori section. The students of class nursery made the models of orange with clay and painted them with the help of teachers. Students of class KG made wrist watches of orange colour and wore it. Some students gave presentations about colour. They told that the orange is a secondary colour which is combination of yellow and red. They also told that the colour represents the health and energy. The students made verbal lists of items with orange colour in the school and surroundings.
