TLS Principal attended Seminar in Germany
TLS Principal, Ms Asma Kiran Pervez attended two weeks seminar conducted by the International Academy of Leadership, at Gummersbach, Germany on No Education, No Freedom. 24 participants from 20 countries were the participants and they shared their experience that will be helpful for The Learning School also to provide the purposeful quality education to the children of rural area of Kasur district. Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freihet (FNF), Pakistan Office seleted her on the baisis of her performance during the last several training workshops that is also part of furhter training system at TLS. TLS management is thankful to FNF for giving the opportunity to TLS Principal for fully sponsored workshop in Germany from 7th to 19th February 2010.

TLS Team Leaders in PR Workshop Public Relations is the main task for the team leaders of any organisation. Principal TLS Ms Asma Kiran Pervez and Vice Principal TLS Mr Ali Ahmed are attending three days Training Workshop on Public Relations-II, being conducted by Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freadom, at Karachi, from 30th January till 1st February 2010. The workshop focus on concept and strategy. Fifteen paticipations from partner organisations of FNF are attending it.

Rida Zeynab got 2nd Position in Punjab
Rida Zeynab was the best student of the year at TLS during 2009 and she further proved it at English Essay Writing Competition at Punjab Level, where she got the 2nd Position. Earlier at Lahore Divisonal level competition in Secondary English Essay Writing, she got the 1st Position. Other briallent student of TLS, Mr Awais Khalid of 8th Class also won the 1st Position at Lahore Division level in English Essary Writing at middle level. Mr Awais Khalid last year won the 1st Position at Punjab level in English Essay Writing. Muhammad Musab, student of 8th class got the 3rd position at Lahore divison level in English Speech competition.

Green Day at TLS
Green Colour Day was celebrated on December 18, 2009. This activity was celebrated in the Montessori section. All the students collected green leaves from the school orchard and made very attractive head bands with them. They also found out different shades of green colour from the orchard. Students also made a presentation on the activity and told that it is secondary colour which is combination of blue and yellow. Green colour represents life and growth.

Orange Colour Day On December 8, 2009, Orange colour day was celebrated in the school. This activity was celebrated in the Montessori section. The students of class nursery made the models of orange with clay and painted them with the help of teachers. Students of class KG made wrist watches of orange colour and wore it. Some students gave presentations about colour. They told that the orange is a secondary colour which is combination of yellow and red. They also told that the colour represents the health and energy. The students made verbal lists of items with orange colour in the school and surroundings. |
Aine attended two weeks Seminar in Germany
TLS is proud that Ms Quratul Aen, Senior English Teacher, attended the Seminar on Human & Civil Rights at International Academy for Leadership, Gummbersbach, Germany from 29th to 10th December 2009. There were Twenty-two participants, from 19 countries, who took part in the conference. The participants came from the regions of Asia, Africa, Middle East and Russia. The workshop was conducted in order to give insights into human and civil rights. The workshop comprised of working group discussions, open discussions, presentations, role plays and study tours. Mr Stefen Melnik and Gulmina Bilal, Director Individualland were the moderators and it is worth to mentioned that both are close friends of The Learning School.

TLS Girls on Top in Matric Exams
Samia Ismail of The Learning School got 968 marks out of 1050 (92.20%) in Matric Exam and stood on top at TLS. Shazia Rehman got 948 marks (90.30%) and got second position while third position holder was also a brilliant girl Ayesha Perviz as she got 931 (88.67%).
