Modern education is nothing without computers. The Learning School established its Computer Lab with the 25 fully equipped computers. The aim of the lab was to familiarize the students with the latest technology and software .Computer studies is a compulsory part of the curriculum taught at school from the first grade. Students of Class 9th and 10th are however given the option to skip this subject if they do not plan to pursue with computers as their specialization.
The computer teachers at The Learning School are highly qualified for the job and make the students much comfortable with the usage of computers as a tool for learning. The administration claims that the standard of education being provided to the students about computers is not less than that being provided to the pupils in any English medium school.
The lab, however, faces many problems. Load shedding of the electric supply is a major hurdle for the computer lab. Secondly, the administration has not been able to connect all the computers, the fax machines, the scanning devices, and the printers through a network due to the shortage of funds.
A major development in this area of study recently took place. Recently, the management was able to install high-speed DSL internet to the lab. Shortly, this facility will be given on all the computers operating in the lab and the students will be given full access to the internet so that they are able to use the computers as a resource material. This facility will also be provided in the class rooms soon. This will enable the teachers to use a laptop and a multimedia to assist them in their lectures.
Thus, the role of Computers in modern lives is not overlooked at The Learning School. The administration has kept a well maintained computer lab and continues to update it with the latest technologies available.
